Project Background:
Nourish believes that happy, healthy, well developed children are the foundation of resilient communities. This should be a given. For many children and families in rural South Africa, however, the reality is limited access to water and basic sanitation, poverty, malnutrition, a shortage of trained teachers and learning resources, overcrowded classrooms, few safe play areas, and little first aid training.
The Nourish RISE preschool at our Eco Village was created in response to this urgent need for early childhood development in the community. The programme provides a joyful, safe space where children learn, play, develop and grow with trained facilitators and the resources they deserve.
Currently 62 children attend the crèche each day. They receive two nutritious meals, along with educational and social stimulation in a secure environment.
Our Sponsor a Child programme enables us to continue offering free and heavily subsidised places to local parents, while creating a nurturing, positive space for every child.

Your donation supports the running costs of the Nourish RISE preschool, including water, electricity, educational resources, healthy snacks and teacher stipends. It helps vulnerable children enjoy a safe, colorful and joyful environment where they can flourish and grow.
