Program Overview
A Nourish Immersive Experience in Early Childhood Development is about immersing yourself into the day to day operations and running of the programme associated with your chosen field. You will spend your day working with the team, learning from them and having an amazing experience! The work is very hand-on, so expect to be busy but remember to have fun!
Nourish Eco Village is based in the rural community of Sigagule. It is structured to be a learning experience for everyone involved, from staff to volunteers. Working hours is from Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm with an amazing team. Our entire team is very knowledgeable in their fields, so take the time to learn from and add value to your program.

Life at Nourish Eco Village
Ubuntu is an African philosophy that speaks to compassion and humanity at its very core. Through our Eco Village model, we partner with communities to deliver integrated programs in education, nutrition, enterprise, and sustainable tourism. Everything we do is practical, holistic, and built for the long term—growing a better tomorrow, together.
Life at the Eco Village is alive with nature: you might meet our friendly dogs, help feed the donkeys, and at night hear hyenas and lions calling in the distance.
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
Accommodation & Meals
Accomodation
All immersion participants and interns stay on-site at Shik Shack, the backpackers at the Nourish Eco Village. Rooms are shared by two people; each person has their own bed and storage.

Tourism Activities
As work is from Monday to Friday you have the weekend to enjoy some of the most amazing destinations in the world.
Take a walk on the wild side and enjoy all the adventures this area has to offer during your stay at Shik Shack. There are a myriad of tours available which cater to all tastes, shapes and flavours.
From the Blyde River Canyon t the world famous Kruger National Park.

Flights & Arrivals
Flights & Arrivals
As part of your package, a Nourish team member will meet you at the airport or at the designated shuttle transfer point. We’ll confirm the details with you before you depart, just look for the Nourish Eco Village sign on arrival. From there, we’ll drive you to the Eco Village.
Shuttle options: If you’d like to use a shuttle, please ask us directly. We’ll share current, reliable options and help you choose what fits your schedule and budget.
Tip: Send us your flight itinerary once booked so we can coordinate pickup smoothly.
Safety & Medical
Nourish Eco Village sits in the heart of South Africa’s Lowveld, close to beautiful wildlife areas and rich, diverse cultures. Many languages are spoken locally; English is widely used for everyday communication.
Your safety is our priority. We’re based in a welcoming rural community and follow practical measures on site and during activities.
Safety
- On-site security team with 24/7 guards and rescue dogs.
- Perimeter protection, including electrified fencing to deter roaming wildlife after dark.
- Emergency security response company on call for serious incidents.
- Arrival orientation with basic safety guidance and contact information.
Medical
- Supervisors are trained in first aid, and first-aid kits are available on site.
- For serious emergencies, we activate AfricaSafe-T, a professional medical response service.
- Our primary referral facility is Tzaneen Private Hospital and the newly built Hoedspruit Private Hospital.
Travel tip: Please bring any personal medications and copies of prescriptions, and ensure you have comprehensive travel insurance that covers medical care and evacuation. If you have specific health needs, let us know in advance so we can support you.
